School Age Program:
TO ALL SCHOOL-AGE PARENTS
For the safety of the children we serve, we need to inform our parents of Brentwood Childcare’s policies. All children must come thru the front entrance and must be signed in. They will depart with their assigned group.
We provide transportation to the following public schools: Abbott Creek, Brentwood, Fox Road, Wildwood Forest, Millbrook Elementary, Vena Wilburn (year-round Track 1 &4), River Bend, River Bend Middle afternoon only), Durant Road (year-round/afterschool only) and East Millbrook Middle (afterschool only), Durant Road Middle (year-round/afterschool only), Green Elementary & Torch Light Academy. We do receive public school bus stops. Parents are responsible for contacting Wake County Transportation office to approve our location as a stop to ensure public transportation is current for the upcoming school year.
We do not allow students to meet the group once they have left the premises. This is how we can maintain safety and know precisely whom we left the center with.
Before School Arrival: If you are enrolled in the us before school program, you must be present by 7:25 am our bus/van departure time is 7:30 am. We do not allow our bus/van to be stopped once the children have loaded and departed from the center. You will not be able to load a child at a traffic light or at an elementary school stop. If you do not arrive at 7:25, you will not be able to drop off your child.
After School Arrival: Please notify the center by 2:00 pm if your child is not riding our bus or van. (Early release days are included in tuition.)

We’re honored and excited to have a new opportunity to support our schools, teachers, & parents this year!
Brentwood Child Care: The Foundation of Knowledge is not just IN our communities, but we’re FOR our communities. When COVID-19 hit our nation, everyone was thrust into uncertainty, and we saw our schools and how our child learns and interaction change. Today, teachers and parents are trying to step into the unknown and continue with what they feel called to do to shape the lives of kids, whether it’s their own children’s lives or the lives of children entrusted in their classrooms.
As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Governor of North Carolina and North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (“NCDHHS”) has directed public school systems to develop several plans for reopening public schools for the 2020-21 school year, including plans for students to participate in out-of-school, remote instruction; and providers to serve as a distance learning facility.
Brentwood Child Care is committed to serving families and students during these uncertain times, even when families are engaged in virtual education. We are excited to announce that we have developed Remote Learning Center, a safe and structured environment that will allow students to attend virtual classes, benefit from peer interaction, and participate in engaging enrichment activities while parents return to work. The Remote Learning Center is available for students entering K-6th grade from 7:00 am – 5:00 pm (temporary hours).
Our Remote Learning Center provides a structured schedule to ensure that students are able to stay focused and on-task while engaging in virtual learning and also receive onsite academic support in a small group setting. We will work directly with parents to ensure each child’s success.
Brentwood Child Care is committed to providing a safe environment for our staff and the families we serve. We are doing everything required by state and local officials, and we have even incorporated additional safety features in maintaining sanitation/handwashing throughout our building. We are keeping the children in the same groups with the same staff attending to their needs. They will be given assigned workstations and their supplies for school, along with earphones and personal cubby/locker space. Our Team will help students keep their devices clean and wiped down before using and storing them at the end of the day.
a). Provide the Brentwood with your child’s device. If you have multiple children, each child is required to have their device. You will need to check in the device with a staff member (please provide chargers). If you want to take the device home, it must be checked out by office management only. (please DO NOT bring book bags or computer bags)
b). Parents are aware we are not affiliated with WCPSS; we are only a resource that provides a space and opportunity for learning.
Parents are required to communicate with their child’s teacher about their assignments and progress in their class. Our teachers are not working for or fill-ins for a WCPSS teacher; they are strictly here to provide support/encouragement and monitor the children.
c). Parents will provide log-in information, child’s grade, school name, teacher’s name, and class bell schedule.
d). Each child is required to be present ½ hour before their log-in time. Our staff will be happy to provide breakfast and help each student log in on time. (We ask all parents to adhere to this policy because the children will be in our care and logging in on time for necessary!)
We hope this will be a great partnership with our school-age families to gain another successful school year.
Reminder: Brentwood Child Care – The Foundation of Knowledge and its staff are not governed or affiliated with the WCPSS. WCPSS policies and procedures do not supersede ours.
Even though your child/children will be attending WCPSS virtual learning, it is on the premises of Brentwood Child Care. Therefore it is our policy and procedures that MUST and will be required to follow at all times for the safety of our staff and the families we serve. If you have any questions regarding any of the information you have received, you may contact our management at (919)-8726004.
